High school equivalency

Exams: GED

18; age 17 requires parent/guardian permission; age 16 is limited to authorized state-agency, court-order or Job Corps circumstances.

Appendix C, p. 359, with official-source corrections where needed. Residency, withdrawal, identification, consent, and online versus test-center rules may also apply.

Source review

The printed appendices report a review date of October 20, 2026. Website source check: 2026-11-01.

TEA expressly disclaims homeschool registration/approval and recognizes private-school exemption and good-citizenship instruction. Reviewed page did not explicitly establish withdrawal procedure or absence of homeschool achievement testing, so full homeschool summary is not certified. GED age 18/17 permission and limited age-16 categories match.

Sources can change after review. Confirm every deadline and requirement directly with the responsible agency before acting.
